Tree nursery set up with 80 Max

A beautiful bright morning in Newcastle on Saturday as twenty of our volunteers helped our friends at 80 Max build a new native tree nursery.

Unfortunately the situation in Wicklow with an over-abundance of grazers such as deer and sheep make it very hard for our native woodlands to regenerate on their own. Growing locally collected native tree from seed to a few years old before planting out gives them a far greater chance of surviving.

We're working on setting up a network of these nurseries with partners across the county and its work that takes many hands so join us this autumn and winter on rewildwicklow.ie - they're always great days out... although we can't always promise the weather
