Sun, sheep and Scots Pine at the Star Woodland

A great turnout of 20 volunteers spent the day in the young Star Woodland at the Ballyduff Crossroads helping the Newton family.

It's a beautiful area for nature with organic farmed rare breed sheep, heathland, heather, an old stand of scots pine and 9,000 newly planted native trees!

We spent the morning finding those trees in the grass, trampling it back and giving them a chance to establish!

It's wonderful to meet families like the Newtons who have devoted all their land and time to restoring biodiversity in Wicklow.
