Peatland restoration project with NPWS starts

Fantastic day on Saturday 7th May with a big crew of 20 volunteers out on the Barnacullian ridge right in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains.

We spread heather brash out over a large area of degraded peat and moved materials around to build dams. Thank you to National Parks and Wildlife Service for having us!

We're very excited be helping with this innovative peatland restoration trial in the Wicklow Mountains National Park over the next few months. Restoring peatlands is recognised as one of the best opportunities in Ireland to combat the climate and biodiversity crises.
