From Wild Eala to Wild Acres a weekend of rewilding

On Saturday 30 volunteers visited Bebhinn and Liz in Blessington to trample grass around their young woodland. Their trees have grown so much since our last visit! They also got a tour of the entire reserve with its many different restoration and regenerative initiatives.

On Sunday another 40 volunteers visited Gilly and Brian near Arklow to dig two new ponds. They already had 23 ponds on their incredible reserve before this! We also helped with maintaining young oak trees in raised beds with more that were added. In time these will be donated to our work for replanting all across Wicklow.

We were also delighted to have Jennifer Whitmore TD and comedian Colm O'Regan amongst our crew on Sunday! Our events are open to everyone and we're always looking for more volunteers. See rewildwicklow.ie to join the list.
