Acorn collection and a new peatlands restoration site

We had some really dedicated volunteers brave the elements over the past week as we continued to support the NPWS rangers.

On Thursday we helped collect 32kg of acorns around Glendalough that will be sowed to create a future generation of Oak to be planted out there.

On Saturday we visited a new peatland restoration site south west of the Wicklow Gap and helped build ten timber dams to slow the runoff of water and peat.

We'll continue supporting the NPWS all winter and into the new year. To join our volunteer movement visit us at here.
