32 cameras set up for Snapshot Europe

Over the weekend several teams of volunteers were out all across east Wicklow putting up camera traps for the start of Snapshot Europe 2023 on 1st Sep.

This year we have expanded the project to 32 cameras with thanks to private donations and a grant from the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Following the same setup protocols as other projects all across Europe, the aim is to get a snapshot of mammal populations in each country.

This year we're delighted we're no longer the only project area in Ireland with setup of camera traps also happening down in Connemara and Nephin National Parks!
